We recently asked a local preschool how they were finding the School Stream app and we were blown away by the response. Here is what they had to say:
Quite honestly I couldn’t say enough great things about the School Stream App.
We began researching ways to communicate with families which minimised paper trails, took less time and kept up with the ongoing growth of technologically based communication.
We were finding parents were using our website more and more for all sorts of information including, newsletters, day sheets, developmental information, community contact lists etc.
Our research lead us to several App based systems. We chose School Stream due to its easy to use dashboard and its ability to integrate straight into our website. This meant not having to do everything twice, it was all easily embedded.
We received, which everyone receives when they sign up, comprehensive training about how to use the App. This training is beneficial and comprehensive no matter what your level or knowledge of computers. (EXTREMELY VALUABLE).
There have been some minor teething problems, more to do with the parents understanding how to manage their own notification settings, but all the road bumps we have come up against have been solved quickly. The School Stream team are immediately responsive and supportive with all situations.
Our monthly newsletters are uploaded into the newsletter section which minimises the cost and time of copying.
Reminder posts and alerts can be posted before the children arrive to support parents to bring items of need or also if for some reason there was a change in the preschool day (e.g. school closure due to extreme weather etc.)
These forms of communication are valuable for parents who are rushed or parents who are away (we have many FIFO families and single parent families), supporting the inclusion of all family structures in the information sharing and communication.
Recently we asked for feedback from families in regards to the process and all of the responses we received were positive. “School Stream is fantastic.” “Communication is current, comprehensive and easily accessible.” “Really impressive.” “School Stream is a wonderful form of communication especially for Dad when he is away working.”
We would definitely recommend School Stream to any Early Childhood Education and Care Setting. It is cost effective and very easy to use.
